Airplanes Nursery

How to sound proof a nursery without it looking tacky?

My husband and I recently found out we are expecting a baby and are looking for ideas to sound proof what will be our nursery. It is not that we worry about the baby making too much noise though- rather the neighbors. The owner has an airplane and we live right next to where he keeps it, which unfortunately can be REALLY loud when he leaves. So I am concerned about waking the baby. Also, the nursery is not really a room with a door, just some curtains to separate it from the living room. Please, any ideas?
To be more specific, we live in an apartment on the back side of an airplane hanger, so we want to limit the sound from the airplane.

Babies don’t need soundproofing. They can sleep through vacuum cleaners next to their cribs. They have a way of tuning sounds out when they need to sleep, it’s a defense mechanism to avoid overstimulation.
