AIRPLANES: What is the oldest commercial airliner in use in the World?
I was watching an old 1970s film, and the 757 jet in the film looks identical to planes I fly on today. Which made me wonder, how can you tell how old an aircraft is from looking at it.inside and outside..What the the average age of jets in service across America today..and in service around the world? I certainly would feel more comfortable riding in a jet made with recent technology and was not older than I am.
There’s a Ford Tri-Motor flying in Arizona, you can get a type rating in it. Lots of DC-3s still around, they date to 17 Dec 1935. There’s a museum operating a DC-2 and I think one Boeing 247 flying.
Personally, I’d rather fly the -3.
